Yoga mats are one of those things that are easy to assume they're all the same and when you look at the pricier ones like this you wonder if you're actually getting anything for the extra expense beyond the brand name. In this case, yes, these B Mats are absolutely superior to cheaper generic mats and this kids version has me wanting to upgrade to a B Mat of my own.
This mat is both thinner than your average mat but also very noticeably tougher at the same time, as soon as you take it out of the packaging and unroll/handle it you can tell it's different. It's higher density than most, and doesn't have a ""spongey"" feeling to it but is still soft and comfortable. The texture and material the mat is made of is really grippy. It doesn't slide around on a smooth floor at all, and you don't slide around on top of it either.
The mats size is more than good enough for kids, mine are both under 10 and the size works well for them. Overall, I'm really pleased with the quality of the mat and think it's worth the expense.
