My favorite heated vinyasa teacher uses this mat and gave it great press, but I ordered it with some trepidation based on past experiences with other failed "grippy" mats. I sweat--I mean I freakishly sweat--during 60 min heated vinyasa classes (>95 degrees). My feet stayed put, but this mat, like so many others (I'm looking at you, Manduka), offered little to no traction for my crazy sweaty palms. I tried using a towel at the top of the mat like I did with the $20 sticky mat I used to use when I first started practicing non-heated hatha/vinyasa 20+ years ago, but no luck. On the plus side, this mat is really cushy and feels nice underfoot. It'll be great for yin, but for heated vinyasa I'm going to need to go back to my trusty old--and I mean old--Gaiam Performance Dry-Grip. 2.5 stars.
