Cleaning the top (cork side) of the yoga mat is recommended once a week with normal practice.
If used daily or for hot yoga, clean the cork after every practice. This helps prevent the body’s oils from building up and keeps the mat looking and smelling fresh.
Spray the mat with The Cleanser and air dry with the mat laying out flat.
Cork Mats become grippy when wet. For non heated practices we recommend spraying water where your hands and feet are in order to create a desired grip.
I cannot find cork play mats for babies in Canada (they seem to be popular in Europe and Australia. So I bought 2 of these yoga mats and side-by-side they make a perfect play mat. We have it in the living room now but they will move to our son's room in the future. They are heavy, chic and expensive looking.
Perfect mat for high intensity / faster phased flows / hot yoga - no slipping and sliding VERY high gripHonestly this mat is everything I was looking for !It’s too early to tell how long it will last with frequent use yet because obviously I only had it for a week but judging by just the thickness, weight and the quality of the material in comparison to the other mats I own (some are $45 some are all the way at $180-$200)THIS MAT IS PERFECTIONBEST BANG FOR BUCK HIGH QUALITY MAT 🤍
Durable, great for hot yoga classes. This is a heavy mat and great for other classes like Pilates, hatha, etc.
The mat in itself seems to be of high quality and quite durable. The Cork feels great and and is definitely anti slip especially when wet.Pretty heavy though. But that's great for rolling out the mat.So all in all if you have a normal mat it's a great long lasting one.- sadly my mat had a production error where there were little wholes on the mat without kork. Very small but all over the mat. For that price not great.+ wrote the green yoga shop. They were super accommodating and quick response. After providing pictures I got a full refund for the mat. Which I will donate now. :)
Rated this a 4 because this mat is not perfect, but it is really good for me. I use this mat on a hardwood floor, and I leave it out all the time, so it doesn't get the wear & tear of being rolled up and transported around. I use it about 3 times per week, and it has held up quite well for going on about 9-10 months. It does not slip on the floor (not sure how it performs on other surfaces besides hardwood), and my hands don't slip on it, most of the time. I feel like it is less grippy than it was when it was brand new, but it is still grippy; I usually don't slip, but if it's humid and I'm doing sweaty yoga, hand slippage can happen. The other thing is it's long enough for me, but not that wide. If you're taller than probably about 5'7", you probably have a shoulder girdle width that might require you to position your hands partially off the mat, in order to do certain exercises comfortably (think planks, cat/cows, chaturangas.. the hands-shoulder-width-apart positions). That said, I like this mat, and I'm pleased with it (though for my next mat, I'll try to find something wider)
